The Ashley Madison Hack, Trust and Security, The Trust of Security and the Trust of Distrust.

If you haven’t been asleep the past few weeks, you undoubtedly know about the highly publicized hack of Ashley Madison, the infamous adultery website.

There are a ton of different reactions to it regarding security issues and trust, although most of the media hype has been focused on the usual dirt…what celebrities, CEO’s, politicians, preachers, etc. were caught with their proverbial pants down?

For this reason, I’ve taken my time in tackling this topic because in my mind I’m thinking “Hmmm…who in their right mind trusts their most secure information to a website that promotes deceit and lying?”

Yet there are a lot of them.   Some of them represent the very kinds of people who may be trusting YOUR website with their secure information for transactions and whatnot.   Like it or not, hacks like this one and the Target hack last year affect your visitors’ decision making processes before they decide to give you their personal info.

How secure is your website?   What should your thought processes be when you’re handling any level of eCommerce on your website?

This week’s podcast tackles that very topic and offers some insight into how YOU should be thinking with regard to your website’s security. We’re talking about mindset, scenarios and thought processes here…
