Instagram is one of the biggest social media platforms out there. Because of the sheer amount of users, it’s a great place to market your business. If you want to see some growth, here are some Instagram marketing tips for 2022:

1. Focus on Engaging Content

People are looking for a connection online, and your business should be no exception. It’s important to have a variety of content, but be sure your content is engaging and sparks interest.

One easy way to do this is to ask questions in your posts. If you’re deciding on colors or patterns for a product, head to Instagram and ask your followers! Your customer base will feel involved in the product, and you’ll have a better feel for what will sell best.

Try using the poll feature in stories. Asking questions using the poll feature will track the responses for you, which makes it easier to see results. Don’t be afraid to tell stories in your content. Get personal about your business. What’s your motivation? Why did you start your business rather than working for someone else?

Or, try the Reels feature. Like Stories, Instagram Reels allow you to post short videos. However, unlike Stories, Reels stay on your feed and the Reels tab instead of disappearing after 24 hours. Both Stories and Reels have benefits. How long each lasts and the type of content you’re sharing can help you determine which is better for you when you are evaluating Reels vs Stories.

Keep in mind that these personal posts resonate with your followers. Only posting about your products can come off as only caring about the bottom line, not your customers.

2. Make Sure Instagram is Visible on Your Website

If someone googles your business or comes across your website, it’s important that they can easily find your Instagram account, too. Make sure you have a link to your account in a prominent spot on your website.

Another option is to have your Instagram feed integrated into your website. That way, users without Instagram can still view your content.

3. Pick the Right Time

Figuring out the right time to post can be tricky. It might take a bit of trial and error to figure out when your followers are most active and likely to engage. However, there are a few times that have been proven where most users are most active.

That time is typically 9 am through 11 am. If you want even more specific times, 11 am on Wednesdays and 10-11 am on Fridays. Try these times and see how posts perform.

4. Figure Out Your Aesthetic

Picking out what your feed and posts look like is important. It will help you stand out among other accounts and it will be recognizable to followers.

If you want a unique look to your feed, pick a color palette and stick with it. Use those colors in your photos, fonts, and background of photos or text posts. Use similar fonts but remember to use different fonts than those of your competitors.

If you take a lot of photos, use the same filter setting or edit your photos in the same style to achieve uniformity. And make sure that you’re taking this aesthetic to your Instagram stories, too!

5. Get Creative With Captions

The right caption is key to getting engagement on Instagram. If you’re showcasing a product on your feed, include details about the product in the caption. Does it come in other colors or sizes? Include that kind of information.

And don’t be afraid to use humor or pop-culture references. Is a certain song lyric fitting with your post? Add it in, and tag the artist. Fans of that artist will love the little shoutout! Tagging accounts, using hashtags, and including the most relevant information are all tips to write better Instagram captions and help your posts reach more people.

With time and practice, you will find what works best for your business when marketing through Instagram. Implementing these Instagram marketing tips for 2022 will help you see more engagement with your content.
